Answer:

Current DePaul students, faculty and staff can access library resources from anywhere in the world by using their Campus Connect login to authenticate when prompted:

Please note that, due to licensing restrictions, alumni may only access databases and other online resources on campus by using designated library computers. Here are some troubleshooting tips:

  • Can you log in to Campus Connect? If CC is down, remote access authentication will also be down.
  • Did you recently change your Campus Connect password? Avoid including more than one required special character, such as ! @ #$ ^ * ( ) - _ { }; : / ?. < > in your password. Note: the plus symbol + is not listed as an acceptable special character. If you changed your password in keeping with this advice and you still cannot authenticate, contact the Technology Support Center (TSC) either by phone, 312-362-8765, or by submitting a case through your Campus Connect account.
  • Have you tried accessing multiple databases? It's possible you're receiving an error message because an individual database is unavailable. If you can get into some databases, but not one in particular, please alert us through Ask a Librarian.
  • Are you using a virtual private network (VPN) e.g., Pulse? Doing so bypasses the Library's normal database authentication prompt illustrated above. You will arrive at a database's own login screen which will not recognize your efforts to log in with DePaul credentials. Turn off your VPN/Pulse connection if you want to use library databases.
  • Are you attempting to use our access to HathiTrust content? Logging in to HathiTrust works a bit differently. See this FAQ for details: https://answers.library.depaul.edu/faq/295600
  • Are you attempting to use a bookmark, a link you emailed to yourself, or one posted by your instructor? You cannot typically bookmark search results and expect those links to work later. Links that are emailed or posted outside of the library website may not be constructed properly and may fail to authenticate you.
  • Are you trying to access or request something through the LibrarySearch or I-Share? When prompted, sign in with your Campus Connection credentials. If you are not successful, contact Ask a Librarian.
  • Are you trying to log in to our Interlibrary Loan service? This login requires use of the 14 digit barcode number found on the back of your DePaul ID card. First time users are prompted to change their password. You might get a system message that the change was not successful when it was, in fact. Try leaving and coming in again. Use your new password and most likely you will have success. Also note, this service is only available to students who are currently enrolled. Logins are not recognized if you are not registered in the current academic quarter or if you're trying to log in during intersessions/breaks.
