Thank you for thinking of DePaul University Library as the next home for your donated materials.

We cannot accept boxes of books dropped off without prior notification. Please fill out the University Library Donation Form. A Collection Development staff member will review the form submission and contact you with more information regarding your donation. Contact Collection Development staff at LibCollDev@depaul.edu if you have any donation questions.

Potential donors are asked to review the University Library Gift Policy to ensure that their donation matches DePaul’s list of acceptable materials. A few important things to note:

  • Materials in very good condition which support the teaching and research mission of the university are preferred.
  • The library will not accept duplicate holdings. 
  • The library will donate or discard all gifts not added to the collection.

Generally, we do not add the following items to our collection:

  • textbooks
  • print journals to which we have electronic access
  • material in subject areas not taught within the curriculum
