Answer:

Both the John T. Richardson Library in Lincoln Park and Loop Library located downtown are open to visitors from other academic institutions and to the general public.

  • Please note that after 9:00 p.m., access to the Richardson Library is restricted to current DePaul University students, staff, and faculty holding a valid DePaul ID Card.
  • Visitors from other I-Share institutions may borrow materials from the general, circulating collection (exceptions include materials on course reserves, reference titles, and equipment such as headphones, chargers, etc.) by presenting your home institution ID card.
  • Wi-Fi is available to visitors from other Eduroam-participating institutions who have their own laptops or devices. Wireless printing is not available.
  • Access to most of DePaul's database subscriptions is available to walk-in visitors at designated library computers, but there are no computers available with access to the wider Internet or Microsoft Office products. Printing after purchase of a copy card and downloading to a flash drive are available at these designated computers.
  • DePaul is a member of the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP) and designated as “digital only”. Whereas, we do not collect tangible copies of federal documents we can provide access to federal Websites and assistance to the general public in using online federal sources of information at designated library computers. Printing after purchase of a copy card and downloading to a flash drive are available at these designated computers.
  • DePaul and non-DePaul researchers alike wishing to use our Special Collections & Archives are welcome to work with that department directly for help with navigating digitized content or to arrange for a visit on days when staff are present.
