Answer:

Current DePaul students, faculty and staff can access library resources from anywhere in the world through OpenAthens using their DePaul BlueKey account:

Please note that, due to licensing restrictions, alumni may only access databases and other online resources on campus by using designated library computers. Here are some troubleshooting tips:

  • Can you access your DePaul BlueKey account? If not, try the "can't access your account" link below the sign-in field, which takes you to https://bluekey.depaul.edu/info, or contact the Help Desk at (312) 362-8765 or helpdesk@depaul.edu.
  • Can you access other databases? It's possible you're receiving an error message because an individual database is unavailable. If you can get into some databases, but not one in particular, please alert us through Ask a Librarian.
  • Are you using a virtual private network (VPN) e.g., Pulse? Doing so may interfere with OpenAthens. You may instead arrive at a database's own login screen which will not recognize your DePaul credentials. Try turning off your VPN/Pulse connection.
  • Are you attempting to use our access to HathiTrust content? Logging in to HathiTrust works a bit differently. See this FAQ for details: https://answers.library.depaul.edu/faq/295600
  • Are you attempting to use a bookmark, a link you emailed to yourself, or one posted by your instructor? Sometimes links copied from library resources will fail to work later for a variety of reasons. Try linking to the resource through the Databases A-Z list or through a Primo search.
  • Are you trying to access or request something through the LibrarySearch or I-Share? When prompted, sign in with your Campus Connection credentials. If you are not successful, contact Ask a Librarian.
  • Are you trying to log in to our Interlibrary Loan service?  The Library’s ILL service does not use BlueKey but instead uses the 14 digit barcode number found on the back of your DePaul ID card.

NOTE: First time ILL users are prompted to change their password. You might get a system message that the change was not successful when it was, in fact, successful. Try leaving and coming in again. Use your new password and most likely you will have success. Also note, this service is only available to students who are currently enrolled. Logins are not recognized if you are not registered in the current academic quarter or if you're trying to log in during intersessions/breaks.
